day care

General guidelines:

  • All dogs in daycare must be neutered or spayed, friendly, and free of significant behavioural problems.

  • Up-to-date on vaccinations – See boarding/daycare requirements.

  • Using good flea and tick prevention.

  • Dogs in Doggie Daycare are always on probation because their behaviour can change.

  • If their social skills are not appropriate, they may lose daycare privileges.

  • Doggie Daycare runs from 10 am until 6 pm every day of the week.

  • Pets need reservations to join daycare.

Program Guidelines:

Social time:

  • Dogs will have a fun and active time with their furry friends, playing for about 4 to 5 hours daily in Doggie Daycare. The experience may change a bit based on their arrival and departure times, ensuring every pup has a great time together!

  • Dogs are allowed to rest for 2 hours at mid-day.

  • Feeding:

  • We advise against giving pets large meals during the day because of their active time at Doggie Daycare, and we don’t provide meals for daycare dogs.

  • Pet owners should know that dogs that engage in heavy exercise within 2 hours of eating, particularly large or deep-chested breeds, are at a higher risk of serious “bloat” (gastric dilation and volvulus).

  • Owners should feed their dogs before 8 AM if they go to Doggie Daycare in the morning.

  • Flea & Tick Preventative:

  • Since fleas and ticks are easily transmitted from pet to pet, and daycare dogs at House of Kasey enjoy frolicking and rolling in our grassy Dog Park, We require owners to treat their dogs religiously with a veterinarian-approved flea and tick preventative. (i.e., Frontline / Revolution)

  • We encourage giving heartworm prevention regularly because Doggie Daycare is very active.
